Inbound and Outbound Integrations:

1. What is the difference between inbound and outbound applications?

Inbound apps are the inwardly integrated apps, from which alerts flow into AlarmsOne. Eg: Nagios, Site24x7, Sumologic, etc.

Outbound apps are the outwardly integrated apps with which AlarmsOne share alerts. Eg: Slack, Zoho Projects, etc.

3. How do I automatically share alerts in AlarmsOne with my Slack team?

To share alerts with outbound apps like Slack, SDP, Trello, etc., first you need to integrate the respective app with AlarmsOne using outbound integration. Then you need to add your application as a recipient in Schedules or in Escalation policy, and associate it with a Notification profile. Doing this will automatically share alerts with your outbound app, say Slack.

4. Our company uses an internally built tool to monitor our IT infrastructure. Can we manage alerts from our application using AlarmsOne?

Yes. You can. Our custom API helps you integrate your internal tool with AlarmsOne. Once you integrate your app with AlarmsOne, AlarmsOne pulls alerts from that application, so you can manage them using AlarmsOne.
